Brandkind People: Marika Ojamäki
Marika Ojamäki is a partner and Art Director here at Brandkind. She’s appreciated by clients and colleagues alike for her organized and disciplined approach to creativity. She’s also famous for being everything, everywhere, all at once.

Marika – Everything. Everywhere. All at once.
Everything
When you are faced with a project or campaign with a multitude of moving parts, Marika is a person you want on your team. She is able to handle an infinite amount of details across the space-time continuum and in an unlimited number of materials, executions and media platforms. She has the rare ability to dive deep into the details without losing the big picture. Marika explains, “Order and structure are an important element of creativity, especially when it has targets and commercial motives.”
Perhaps her passion for impactful visuals that speak to their audience is rooted in her love of art and culture. When she’s not working, you’d be pretty safe betting your money on the fact that she is attending a gallery opening, music concert or museum exhibition. She is a collector of information and experiences, which she sees as a strength both personally and professionally. She enjoys both spending time on the development of refined brand identities and creating impactful multi-channel media campaigns. She’s also known for her love of fashion and sports (especially ice hockey… and Porin Ässät).
Everywhere
As a creative problem-solver, Marika has found unique ways to find her place in the world. She is from Pori… and proud of it, but she lives in Turku and works in Helsinki. This type of existence doesn’t suit most people, but for Marika the world truly is her oyster. She used the pandemic years to conduct her social experiment of being everywhere at once. If not from Turku, Helsinki or Pori, she would often join meetings from her summer cottage in Merikarvia, where she balanced working on the computer with doing DIY projects and chopping firewood.
To Marika, the obvious answers and accepted norms are only the starting point for the creative challenges. Inspiration often happens outside of work, the best ideas are born on the train and work can be done anywhere. “You shouldn’t stop when you have the first good idea, because the next one might be even better.” She encourages all of us to explore before we commit.
All at once
Marika is living proof that one person can wear many hats and take on many roles professionally and personally. She finds beauty in both aesthetics and order. Her primary tool may be her idea-rich brain and imagination, but she is also just as skilled with her hands. And no, not only with a computer in front of her. She knits, she paints, she builds and fixes. You name it.
And if you’ve ever met her, you’ll know that she also absolutely loves to talk! So next time you bump into her here at our office, or at a gallery opening or music festival, listen for a while and get inspired to view the world from a different perspective.
