Brandkind people: Maiju Kettunen
Brandkind’s newest team member, Maiju Kettunen, is a true multi-talent who creates stunning marketing videos and impressive photography. Maiju also brings the latest digital marketing expertise to Brandkind.

A recent digital marketing graduate, Maiju deepened her skills in areas like SEO optimization and the Google Analytics tool. She completed her internship at Brandkind, where she immediately demonstrated her skills and abilities. As a result, Maiju was offered a permanent position starting from April.
Maiju has a background in journalism and video communication. She has worked as a journalist for MTV3 news and produced videos and live streams for the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. Maiju also has experience in public administration through an internship at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Interested in advertising
Maiju became interested in advertising during her studies at the University of Lapland. “In addition to art, I’m interested in psychology, and marketing combines these because it influences perceptions. I did my thesis on scent advertising and studied the image advertising of an intangible product.”
During her studies, Maiju worked at a local photography studio and has been able to utilize these skills at Brandkind by taking our new brand images. “It was fun taking portraits,” says Maiju.
Taking a leap into a creative agency was a logical choice for her. “I’ve really been enjoying working at Brandkind because I’ve been able to do a bit of everything. The team has welcomed me in projects and given responsibility, and no two days are the same.”
Immediately involved in ideation
Maiju has been involved in creating product videos and social media campaigns and has been brainstorming concepts as a team effort. “I’ve been able to develop my skills really quickly, and every day there’s something new to learn,” says Maiju.
She believes that the best ideas come from collaboration. “When you throw an idea to someone, it starts a snowball effect. Teamwork at Brandkind is easy, and there’s no shame in throwing out ideas because our open, creative environment makes ideas flourish.”
For Maiju, customer satisfaction means keeping to schedules, smooth processes, and exceeding expectations. “Work is done with creativity first, and it’s great to make an interesting implementation from even the driest subject.”
Areas for development
Maiju strengthens Brandkind’s digital marketing expertise, but working with more traditional printed materials is new to her. “I’m a digital age person, so I still need to grasp print publications,” she says. “Also, I would like to understand animation more deeply. I have also produced journalistic texts, so I’m interested in developing in this area as much as possible.”
In her free time, Maiju might be seen on the jogging, but more likely she’s at home knitting or taking care of her 20 houseplants. Playing with her cat Oliver, a Garfield lookalike, also helps her unwind from work.
