The idea is to share energy efficiency related experiences, best-practices and solutions using the #EnergyEfficiencyMovement and the Movement Symbol. 

Sebastian Linko, Head of Communications at ABB Motion, has been instrumental in spreading the movement and attracting numerous significant global partners to join. We asked him how he viewed smaller organizations such as Brandkind joining the EEM.

“We welcome companies of all sizes, from all walks of life to join in. While large industrial corporations have the potential to make the biggest individual impact, most companies around the globe fall into the category of small and mid-sized business. So, it is important to be able to share valuable tips and best practices that could also help many of those smaller organizations improve their energy efficiency as well.”

The Energy Efficiency Movement has steadily grown in number of participants, and perhaps more importantly, the message and valuable content continues to reach a healthy audience world-wide.

When asked about the long-term goals of the EEM, Sebastian Linko explains, “At ABB, we want to be a driver for positive change. We can’t save the world alone, but all of us working together can directly and indirectly help make a significant difference in terms of energy efficiency and the responsible consumption of the world’s natural resources.” 

Maiju Leppänen, Art Director and Partner at Brandkind, is also the coordinator of our environmental program. She sees being a part of the movement as a natural extension to our own sustainability efforts.

“In 2020, Brandkind started an environmental program to reduce the carbon footprint of the company. Our ultimate goal is to become carbon neutral by 2025. We now monitor and report our energy consumption and emissions based on the GHG Protocol and take active steps to reduce them. We also recognize the importance of communicating our environmental efforts to our partners and stakeholders to encourage them to also take action. We believe that being a part of the Energy Efficiency Movement sends an important positive message about our commitment.”
