Challenge

Homebase for the Movement

In 2021, one of the world’s leading technology companies, ABB, launched an initiative named the Energy Efficiency Movement (EEM) to provide a platform that would encourage worldwide action and discussion around the transitionmore efficient energy practices in the industry.. In May this year, the EEM, a trailblazer in energy efficient practices for industry announced its governance transformation as a non-profit association registered in Zurich, Switzerland with its founding members founding members, ABB and Alfa Laval.

In order to gather both major industry stakeholders and smaller players from around the world to the same table, EEM needed to create a web homebase for the movement. Since Brandkind had been instrumental in supporting the EEM messaging from the beginning and has the required technical expertise, they were a good selection for the next steps in the web design journey of the Energy Efficiency Movement.

“Brandkind has proven to be an valuable and flexible partner in setting the right tone to spread the message of the Energy Efficiency Movement,” says Mike Umiker, Executive Director at Energy Efficiency Movement Assocation.

Approach

Fast and easy access

The direction was clear: Develop an inspirational and clear web-portal for the EEM. We needed to ensure a smooth transition for existing members (or Movers, as they are referred to by EEM) while creating an engaging platform for new potential participants interested in being a part of community. It was particularly important to make sure new potential Movers had easy and fast access to content, as well as joining the initiative.

Once the initial website was live and running, we have been working closely with the EEM management team to implement regular content and structure updates, ensuring that new resources and milestones of the association are communicated in a timely and efficient manner. We also introduced an automated onboarding process for new Movers using a CRM system.

Results

Engaging attention

The new Energy Efficiency Movement website is a clean and informative source of information and inspiration for new and potential Movers, showcasing related stories and innovations from around the globe in an easy-to-explore format. From an initial handful of Movers, the EEM now boasts over 500 companies from around the world and of all sizes among their ranks.

The website we created provides the necessary platform to encourage global action on the topic of energy efficiency and is key toto the Energy Efficiency Movement’s communication and collaboration activities.
