that leads to results.
Case 1
Visible sustainability journey
In the next few years, sustainability reporting in the EU will become stricter and will apply to an increasing number of companies. When many were still thinking about starting sustainability reporting, the ground handling company Airpro decided to take action. The company’s sustainable operations were made visible through an electronic ESG report and website.
Challenge
Embarking on ESG reporting
Airpro, a pioneer in sustainable ground handling, wanted to make its responsible operations more visible and prepare its first voluntary sustainability report. Like many companies, Airpro was pondering how to initiate ESG reporting for the first time and how to outline the emphasis of the report in line with the company’s strategy.
“We chose Brandkind as our partner because of their strong ESG expertise and proactive approach. Our collaboration with Brandkind has been seamless, culminating in a report that reflects our joint commitment in developing the reporting process and making our ESG efforts visible,” says Emma Peltoniemi, Communications and Sustainability Manager at Airpro.
In addition to the digital report, Airpro needed sustainability content for the company website in an easy-to-view format and also raise awareness of ESG themes internally.
Approach
Productive co-creation process
The project began with a workshop led by Brandkind, where participants were familiarized with the general requirements, content, and scope of sustainability reporting. The workshop also involved mapping out the necessary data and goals for the report. Based on the collected data, Brandkind designed the content structure and creative concept for the initial report. Brandkind was also in charge of creating the final published report.
“Brandkind team was easy to approach and productive. They really understood our vision and created us a report that visualizes Airpro’s sustainability actions perfectly.”
Results
Visually impressive and easy-to-navigate report
The aspiration was to create an inviting and engaging report, a package that aligns with Airpro’s vibrant and fresh brand. The voluntary reporting model allowed for a more creative approach to content production, resulting in a visually impressive and easy-to-navigate sustainability report.
Compiling the report enhanced Airpro’s own data collection and reporting mechanisms and strengthened, clarified and inspired the company’s internal ESG work.
The digital sustainability report and the derived communication themes help Airpro communicate its sustainability efforts more openly to all stakeholders, reinforcing a positive employer image. In connection with the report, Airpro’s management team was presented with the next steps in EU sustainability reporting (CSRD). The cooperation helped to create a foundation for future mandatory reporting.
“We were very pleased with the report and will continue our cooperation with Brandkind regarding Airpro’s sustainability reporting and communications.”
Brandkind produced both the initial 2022 sustainability report and the 2023 report.
