Episode highlights:

Forcit Group is a comprehensive service company operating in the explosives field, with Brandkind as its communication partner, responsible for designing and implementing digital solutions. How important is the development of digital services in this industry?

Nowadays, information is almost entirely sought online, so having a functional website is absolutely essential. Our biggest challenge is staying grounded and identifying which developments truly benefit our target audience.

What does digital development mean for Forcit in practice?

We work in the infrastructure sector, collaborating with quarrying and construction companies. On-site, the work is highly tangible, requiring genuine physical effort 24/7. Digital services act as tools that enhance efficiency. Our development projects include digital software that improves reporting, environmental impact monitoring, analytics, and planning.

Our industry is tightly regulated, requiring specific documents—such as product specifications, chemical safety data sheets, and other usage-related documentation—to always be accessible. This means our websites must operate flawlessly at all times, making website development critically important for us.

What needs for development have been identified during the partnership?

Our partnership began when we needed a skilled, versatile, and empathetic partner. At Forcit, we were in a situation where maintaining our websites demanded a lot of specialized expertise. We managed until the company began to grow, and updating the sites for various subsidiaries became cumbersome, challenging, and expensive.

As a result, we buried the old site and built an entirely new multisite system, making maintenance and updates much easier. We also created integrations to automate updates for important documents, simplifying the process significantly.

Now, we have a partner who handles everyday maintenance challenges and proposes improvements to the overall system.

One partnership often leads to another. Through you, we also took on the task of rebranding and redesigning the website for the Vuorimiesyhdistys association. What was this project about?

The Vuorimiesyhdistys is a long-established and traditional association. We realized it was perceived, especially among young students, as outdated. We also lacked brand guidelines, and the association’s elevator pitch often depended on the individual presenting it—a common challenge for many volunteer-based organizations.

The project involved data collection workshops with key figures, discussions within the membership, and proposals for reworking the identity. The result was a comprehensive brand package, a completely redesigned website reflecting the new look, updated technological solutions, and easier website maintenance.

The most important aspect of such projects is the launch itself. Brandkind provided excellent materials and support for the launch event, which received very positive feedback from the members. Today, the Vuorimiesyhdistys brand is fresh and modern, easy for anyone to implement, and the website functions seamlessly. I highly recommend a similar project if your association is in need of an update.
