Brandkind People: Minna Sainio
From technical writing to marketing success

Minna Sainio is an Account Director at Brandkind. Although she has been with us for just over a year, in fact, she has spent most of her life working in marketing. “I’ve been in marketing almost all of my life. I actually started in technical writing and gradually drifted towards marketing, later.”
Minna finds it particularly interesting to work with technology companies, especially when they have industry-leading, high-tech products that they need to present with clear and tangible benefits. “When you have to identify the ‘what’s in it for me and my business’ parts, you can learn a lot in the process,” she says.
As an Account Director, Minna likes driving a project from initial planning all the way to the delivery and wrap-up, and being able to set goals and reach them together as a team. In addition, she appreciates the fact that working with technology companies brings variety to her job. “It’s nice to be able to constantly learn from experts in different areas, both in-house and external.”
A positive and encouraging workplace
When it comes to working at Brandkind, she says that it’s is a very human place to work. “Marja, our CEO, takes it to her heart to create a positive and encouraging workplace where people are seen as individuals, not a faceless workforce. Our company slogan ‘If you can be anything be kind’ really resonates with us, and I hope it shows in our work, as well.”

Challenges and happy customers
To Minna, the secret to making a customer happy is to anticipate their needs, thinking ahead and solving issues before they emerge. And to do that, she points out that you need to maintain a constant dialogue and open lines of communication for feedback and improvement.
When it comes to tackling challenges, she thinks that although plans and schedules can sometimes lead to what you might call a very lively life, you can deal with them as long as you have the ability to quickly refocus and redirect your energy. She adds, “of course, you always have to keep client satisfaction as the driver, no matter how big or small a project might be. And as an Account Director, I also try to facilitate my colleagues’ work as much as I can. Whether I’m working on a big or small project, I love it when we, our clients and our own talent, work together as a team towards the best quality and results.”
